STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's basketball team (3-5) saw a six-point lead evaporate in the fourth quarter as visiting Ripon (6-2) pulled ahead for a 73-67 win over UWSP.
 
Junior Bailee Collins (Milton, Wis./Milton) led all scorers with 26 points with eight field goals and 10 made free throws. She also led the Pointers with eight rebounds.
 
Carly Cerrato (De Pere, Wis./De Pere) hit three three-pointers and totaled 11 points.  Amber Baehman (Plainfield, Wis./Tri-County) completed a trio of Pointers in double figures with 10 points.
 
Collins scored UWSP's first five points of the game, but the Pointers were down 7-5.  Back-to-back buckets by Kellan Schmidt (Edgerton, Wis./Edgerton) and Baehman gave UWSP a 9-8 lead midway through the first.  Jamie Pfeifer (Wisconsin Dells, Wis./Wisconsin Dells) got on the board with a basket late as UWSP trailed by one after one.
 
The second quarter began with eight consecutive points by Collins for UWSP.  Cerrato hit all three of her threes in succession and Baehman followed with a make from beyond the arc as UWSP gained a 35-30 lead.  Collins and Baehman each hit a pair of free throws as the Pointers led 39-37 at the half.
 
Collins had seven points and Pfeifer added four as UWSP inched the lead to three at 54-51 heading to the fourth.
 
A Baehman triple gave UWSP a six-point advantage two minutes into the fourth.  The Red Hawks went on a 14-2 run over the next seven and a half minute to take control.
 
The Pointers close out the home non-conference slate on Friday (Dec. 20) at 5:00 p.m. versus St. Norbert.
