SAINT PAUL, Minn. – The UW-Stevens women's hockey team (3-0-1) erased a one-goal deficit twice to earn a 2-2 tie at St. Thomas (0-1-1) on Friday.
Early in the second period, the Tommies broke a scoreless tie to take a 1-0 lead.
Mary Kremer (Sussex, Wis./Arrowhead Warhawks) found the equalizer midway through the period with
Nicole Neuberger (Minnetrista, Minn./Orono) and
Gina Magro (Tower Lakes, Ill./Barrington) assisting on the goal.
UST again took the lead in the middle of the third period. That lead lasted less than four minutes as Neuberger netted the tying goal at 14:11 of the third from
Alex Grubbs (Minong, Wis./Spooner).
UWSP goaltender
Olivia Schultz (Maplewood, Minn./Tartan) made 45 saves, including six in overtime. Tommies' goaltender Erin Cooley made 16 saves.
The Pointers and Tommies face off again on Saturday (Nov. 9) in Minnesota with puck drop slated for 2:00 p.m.
