RIVER FALLS, Wis, - No. 1-ranked UW-Stevens Point Men's Hockey team (19-0-2, 4-0-0) dominated against UW-River Falls (8-8-3, 0-3-1) winning, 6-2, on Saturday in River Falls.

The Pointers, coming off a big 3-1 win over No. 3 UW-Eau Claire the night before, came out firing against UW-River Falls getting goals from six different players. UWSP scored two in the first and then exploded for four in the second.

Carter Roo (Champlin, Minn.) broke open the scoring 15:05 into the first period to give the Pointers a 1-0 lead.
TJ Roo (Champlin, Minn.) and
Ryan Bittner (Crookston, Minn.) dished out the assists.

Luke McElhenie (Sauk City, Wis.) doubled UWSP's lead just over two minutes later, finding the back of the net at 17:15 of the first.
Ethan Strong (Kinmount, Ont.) and
Jordan Fader (Rice Lake, Wis.), tallying his first career assist, picked up helpers on the goal.

Midway through the second period, at 10:05,
Brennen Miller (Keller, Texas) increased the Pointers' lead to 3-0 with an assist from
B.J. Duffin (Red Deer, Alta.).

Less than a minute later, a turnover by the Falcons in their defensive zone made it 4-0 for UWSP as
TJ Roo (Champlin, Minn.) tallied the goal.
Zach Zech (South Lyon, Mich.) had the assist.

UWRF took back-to-back penalties leading to a 5-on-3 power-play. Chaos at the net caused the Falcons to take a delay of game penalty, resulting in a penalty shot for the Pointers.
Tanner Karty (Oklahoma City, Okla.) capitalized, scoring the fifth goal of the game for UWSP at 13:36 in the second.

Colin Raver (Bartlett, Ill.) rifled the puck over the shoulder of the UW-River Falls goaltender, tying Roo for a team-leading ninth goal of the season, at the 17:57 mark of the second period.

Consecutive goals by Falcons' Peter Karavos at 12:51 and Aussie Miller at 13:55 of the third period were the only offense of the night for UWRF.

Sophomore goaltender,
Connor Ryckman (Minesing, Ont.), made 13 saves in the game and improved to 18-0-1 on the season. Falcons' goaltender Zach Quinn took the loss, making 28 saves in the game.

The Pointers get next weekend off before returning to play on Friday, February 1 at UW-Stout. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
