RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team (8-9-2, 1-2-1) fell at No. 6 UW-River Falls (16-2-0, 4-0-0) by a 7-0 score in conference play on Friday night.
Senior
Sydney Conley (South St. Paul, Minn./South St. Paul) was peppered with shots all night and made 48 saves for UWSP. She held the game scoreless until the 14:32 mark of the first.
UWRF scored twice in the first period to put the Pointers in a 2-0 hole. Conley held the deficit at two until late in the second and UWSP trailed 3-0 heading the third.
The Falcons poured it on in the third with four goals for the 7-0 win.
Lauren Smith (Antigo, Wis./Antigo) had three of the Pointers' eight shots on goal in the game.
Nicole Neuberger (Orono, Minn./Orono) had two shots on goal.
The Pointers close out the season series at UWRF on Saturday (Jan. 19) at 2:05 p.m.
