AURORA, Ill. – Freshman Nicole Neuberger (Orono, Minn./Orono) recorded her first career multi-goal game as the UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team (8-6-2) skated past Aurora (3-8-3) on Friday afternoon by a 3-2 score.

Neuberger scored her first of the game 2:27 into the first period, her second goal of the season.  Fellow freshman Anna Cheney (New Brighton, Minn./Irondale) had an assist on the play.

The Pointers extended the lead to 2-0 at 7:28 as freshman Sophie Regovic (Naperville, Ill./Chicago Mission) netted her fourth of the year.  Fellow freshmen Dani Heitsman (Janesville, Wis./Rock County Fury) and Mary Kremer (Sussex, Wis./Arrowhead Warhawks) added helpers.

Aurora pulled a goal back at the 11:48 mark of the first period.  Neither team scored in the second and the game went to the third period with UWSP in front, 2-1.

Just 19 seconds into the third, Neuberger found the back of the net again on a delayed penalty.  Sophomore Emma Berthiaume (South Haven, Minn./Hutchinson) picked up her third assist of the year on the play.

The Spartans scored at the 14:45 mark of the third to make it a one-goal game down the stretch.
