NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The UW-Stevens Point track and field teams completed action at the Dr. Keeler Invite in Naperville on Friday.
Results
For the women,
Brooke Wellhausen (Williams Bay, Wis./Big Foot),
Hannah Mertens (West Bend, Wis./Hartford Union),
Makani Peters (Stevens Point, Wis./SPASH) and
Leah Trempe (Combined Locks, Wis./Kimberly) closed out the meet with a fourth-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay. Their time of 3:57.44 was just 0.34 seconds behind the third-place team.
Trempe ran a time of 57.86 in the 400-meter dash, good for sixth place.
The quartet of
Alexandria Schaub (Peoria, Ill./Dunlap),
Lydia Ulrich (Lake Mills, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran), Mertens and
Adrienne Lewis (Kimberly, Wis./Kimberly) placed seventh in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 49.24 seconds.
Lewis finished 12th in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.63, edged out of 11th by just 0.003 seconds.
Bailey Wolf (Oconto Falls, Wis./Oconto Falls) and
Kara Hoier (New London, Wis./New London) each finished among the top-20 in the 3000-meter steeplechase. Wolf placed 15th with a time of 11:27.42 and Hoier crossed in 19th with a time of 11:36.99.
Wellhausen and
Michelle Petkovsek (Waupaca, Wis./Waupaca) placed 17th and 19th among 73 finishers in the 800-meter run with times of 2:16.95 and 2:17.02.
On the men's side,
Evan Torgerson (Weston, Wis./D.C. Everest) took fourth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 48.97, less than a second behind the event winner.
Nico Labracke (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) placed 18th out of 103 finishers in the 800-meter run. His time was 1:54.72.
Alex Egbert (La Crosse, Wis./Aquinas) finished 21st out of 111 finishers in the 1500-meter run with a time of 3:57.54.
The Pointers travel to La Crosse on Sunday (May 13) for the first of three-straight meets at UWL to close out the outdoor season.
