ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The UW-Stevens Point men's track and field team recorded a score of 72 and a fifth-place finish at the Meet of Champions on Saturday.
Results
Jeremy Lee (Viroqua, Wis./Viroqua) won the decathlon with a total score of 6,535.
Calden Wojt (Marshfield, Wis./Marshfield) powered his way to a second-place finish in the 100-meter dash. He ran a time of 10.80.
Tyler Tanko (Stevens Point, Wis./SPASH) paced a time of 15:57.14 in the 5,000-meter run, good for a third-place finish.
Axel Treinen (Wausau, Wis./East) earned a third-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. He finished with a time of 9:37.45. Teammate
Robert Lutz (Greendale, Wis./Greendale) finished in a fourth-place tie with a time of 9:37.53.
Wojt also competed with
Noah Scheer (Elkhorn, Wis./East Troy),
Travis Wollenberg (Cecil, Wis./Bonduel) and
Evan Torgerson (Weston, Wis./D.C. Everest) running the second leg of the 4x400-meter relay. The quartet came in with a time of 3:20.52.
Alex Egbert (La Crosse, Wis./Aquinas) placed fifth in the 800-meter run. He paced his way to a time of 1:56.19.
Jared Schrang (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) finished sixth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.63.
Brent Reierson (Watertown, Wis./Watertown) slotted seventh in the shot put with a distance of 15.13 meters (49' 7.75").
Torgerson finished in eighth place in the 200-meter dash. The freshman ran a time of 22.50.
Matt Stelmasek (Johnsburg, Ill./Johnsburg) finished in eighth place in the 1,500-meter dash with a time of 3:58.33.
Caleb Rheinschmidt (Nekoosa, Wis./Nekoosa) placed eighth in the hammer throw with a distance of 47.54 meters (156' 0").
Tylar Kohnke (North Fond du Lac, Wis./Horace Mann) earned an eighth-place finish in the javelin throw. The junior launched a distance of 47.04 meters (154' 4").
Se'Kon Stephens (Milwaukee, Wis./Menomonee Falls) and
Tom Kohn (Minnetonka, Minn./Minnetonka) went nine-ten in the long jump. The duo soared to distances of 6.71 meters (22' .25") and 6.68 meters (21' 11").
Hunter Styka (Kimberly, Wis./Kimberly) finished in 18th in the 10,000-meter run. He finished with a time of 32:23.53.
The Pointers travel to the Drake Relays on April 27 and 28 in Des Moines, Iowa, and the St. Norbert Invite on the 28th in De Pere, Wis.
