Pointers Track and Field with Solid Performance at UWP Invitational

PLATTEVILLE, Wis.-The UW-Stevens Point track and field teams had a strong showing at the UW-Platteville Invitational on Thursday.
 
Results

For the men's side, Alex Egbert (La Crosse, Wis./Aquinas) won the 1,500-meter run with a time of 3:58.96.  Teammate Alex Treinen came in fourth with a time of 4:06.39. 
 
The team of Calden Wojt (Marshfield, Wis./Marshfield), Noah Scheer (Elkhorn, Wis./East Troy), Travis Wollenberg (Cecil, Wis./Bonduel) and Evan Torgerson (Weston, Wis./D.C. Everest) earned a second-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay.  The quartet combined for a time of 3:18.87. 
 
Tylar Kohnke (North Fond du Lac, Wis./Horace Mann) finished in second place in the javelin throw.  The junior threw a distance of 52.26 meters (171' 5"). 
 
Torgerson finished in third place in the 400-meter dash.  The freshman sprinted to a time of 48.36. 
 
Brent Reierson (Watertown, Wis./Watertown) earned a fourth-place finish in the shot put.  He threw a distance of 15.36 meters (50' 4.75").  He also placed fifth in the discus throw, propelling the discus to a distance of 45.57 meters (149' 6"). 
 
Reierson, Dylan Delaney (Sauk Prairie, Wis./Sauk Prairie), Isaiah Yaroch and Logan Garski (Rosholt, Wis./Rosholt) went four-five-six-seven in the hammer throw.  The quartet had distances of 51.17 meters (167' 10"), 48.16 meters (158' 0"), 47.04 meters (154' 4") and 47.01 meters (154' 2"). 
 
Nico Labracke (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) crossed the finish line with a time of 1:53.22 for a fifth-place finish in the 800-meter run. 
 
Jeremy Lee (Viroqua, Wis./Viroqua) finished sixth in the pole vault.  The junior cleared the bar at a height of 4.43 meters (14' 6.25"). 
 
Vince Jolliffe clocked in a time of 22.74 in the 200-meter dash, good for 11th. 
 
On the women's side, Karen Wethal (Evansville, Wis./Evansville) finished in first place in the discus throw.  She threw a distance of 45.13 meters (148' 0"). 
 
Angela Breunig (Watertown, Wis./Watertown) won the top finisher in the pole vault.  The senior vaulter finished with a height of 3.51 meters (11' 6.5").  
 
Emily Schlebecker (Mundelein, Ill./Mundelein) and Georgia Harrison (West Bend, Wis./East) went one-two in the 1,500-meter run with times of 4:56.00 and 4:58.06.
 
Alex Grubbs (Minong, Wis./Spooner) placed second in the javelin throw. She threw a distance of 43.00 meters (141' 1"). 
 
Adrienne Lewis (Kimberly, Wis./Kimberly) soared her way to a second-place finish in the long jump. She leaped a distance of 5.47 meters (17' 11.5"). 
 
Sylviann Momont (Auburndale, Wis./Auburndale) came in third in the high jump.  She cleared the bar at a height of 1.55 meters (5' 1").  She also finished eighth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.79. 
 
Leah Trempe (Combined Locks, Wis./Kimberly) earned a third-place finish in the 400-meter dash.  The senior sprinter dashed to a time of 58.24.  Teammate Hannah Mertens (West Bend, Wis./Hartford Union) followed with a fifth-place finish with a time of 59.88. 
 
Tempe also teamed up with Brooke Wellhausen (Williams Bay, Wis./Big Foot), Hannah Mertens (West Bend, Wis./Hartford Union) and Makani Peters (Stevens Point, Wis./SPASH) running the last leg of the 4x400-meter relay.  The quartet crossed the finish line with a time of 3:59.81, good for a third-place finish.  
 
Larkin Hoepner (Eau Claire, Wis./North) placed fourth in the hammer throw.  The sophomore tossed a distance of 48.78 meters (153' 6").  She also grabbed a fourth-place finish in the discus throw with a distance of 41.85 meters (137' 3"). 
 
The 4x100-meter relay team of Alexandria Schaub (Peoria, Ill./Dunlap), Lydia Ulrich (Lake Mills, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran), Mertens and Lewis finished fourth with a time of 48.79. 
 
UWSP is back in action at Rock Island, Ill. next weekend (April 20-21) for the Augie Invite and the Meet of Champions hosted Augustana College.
