KENOSHA, Wis. – In efforts to qualify for the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, the UW-Stevens Point Track and Field team sent a squad of six to the Carthage Final Qualifier in Kenosha, Wis., and
Sylviann Momont (Auburndale, Wis./Auburndale) to Wartburg on Friday, March 2.

Tom Kohn (Minnetonka, Minn./Minnetonka) leaped his way to a win in the triple jump. The freshman jumper leaped a distance of 14.78 meters (48' 6").
Brent Reierson (Watertown, Wis./Watertown) won the shot put. The senior thrower tossed a distance of 16.20 meters (53' 1.75").
Se'Kon Stephens (Milwaukee, Wis./Menomonee Falls) earned a ninth-place finish in the long jump, leaping a distance of 6.60 meters (21' 8").
Karen Wethal (Evansville, Wis./Evansville) finished in second place in the shot put. She tossed a distance of 13.51 meters (44' 4").
Briana Simonis (Rosholt, Wis./Rosholt) clinched a sixth-place finish in the high jump. She cleared the bar at a height of 1.59 meters (5' 2.5").
Anna Hogan (Omro, Wis./Omro) finished in ninth in the triple jump. The senior jumper posted a distance of 10.96 meters (35' 11.5").
In Iowa, Momont placed second in the pentathlon with a score of 3332, just 38 points shy of the event winner.
The Pointers are in action at the Multi-Activity Center as they host the Pointer Final Qualifier on Saturday (March 3). The meet is slated to begin at 10:30 a.m.
