UWSP Men’s Track and Field Wins Pointer Invite, Women Fourth

Stevens Point, Wis. - The UW-Stevens Point track and field teams turned in a number of outstanding performances at the Pointer Invite on Saturday.  The men won with a final score of 190 out of a seven-team field and the women finished in fourth with a final score of 80.5. 
 
Results
 
For the men, Brent Reierson (Watertown, Wis./Watertown), Dylan Delaney (Sauk Prairie, Wis./Sauk Prairie) and Caleb Rheinschmidt (Nekoosa, Wis./Nekoosa) dominated the top three spots of the weight throw.  They threw distances of 18.46 meters (60' 6.75"), 16.42 meters (53' 10.50") and 15.95 meters (52' 4").  Reierson also picked up a second-place slot in the shot put with a distance of 15.73 meters (51' 7.25").
 
Alex Egbert (La Crosse, Wis./Aquinas) finished first in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:56.55, more than six seconds ahead of the other athletes. 
 
Jeremy Lee (Viroqua, Wis./Viroqua) leaped a distance of 6.73 meters (22' 1") in the long jump, good for a first-place finish.  He also finished in fifth in the pole vault, clearing the bar at a height of 4.55 meters (14' 11"). 
 
Tom Kohn (Minnetonka, Minn./Minnetonka) won the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.51.  He also finished in second place in the long jump with a distance of 6.66 meters (21' 10.25")
 
Ochae Viverette (Milwaukee, Wis./King) jumped to a second-place finish in the triple jump with a distance of 13.06 meters (42' 10.25"). 
 
Nico Labracke (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc), Bret Hilliard (Morton. Ill./Morton) and Axel Treinen (Wausau, Wis./East) went two-three-four in the one mile run with times of 4:25.12, 4:28.28 and 4:28.28.
 
Matt Stelmasek (Johnsburg, Ill./Johnsburg) and Robert Lutz (Greendale, Wis./Greendale) went two-three in the 3,000-meter run with times of 8:44.38 and 8:47.95. 
 
Calden Wojt (Marshfield, Wis./Marshfield) clocked in a time of 50.57 in the 400-meter dash, good for second place. 
 
Lee Jepsen (Auburndale, Wis./Auburndale) finished in fourth place in the 60-meter dash, running a time of 7.16. 
 
Evan Torgerson (Weston, Wis./D.C. Everest) tabbed a fifth-place finish in the 200-meter dash.  He clocked in a time of 22.84. 
 
On the women's side, Anna Hogan (Omro, Wis./Omro) won the triple jump with a distance of 11.30 meters (37' 1").  She also picked up a fourth-place finish in the high jump clearing the bar at a height of 1.56 meters (5' 1.25"). 
 
Hannah Mertens (West Bend, Wis./Hartford Union) tabbed a third-place finish in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.94, just 0.16 seconds off the leaders. 
 
Emily Schlebecker (Mundelein, Ill./Mundelein) clocked in a time of 2:18.83 in the 800-meter run, a time good for a third-place finish. 
 
Bailey Wolf (Oconto Falls, Wis./Oconto Falls) ran to a fourth-place finish in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:24.80. 
 
The team of Tatiana Sotka (Waupaca, Wis./Waupaca), Haley Slusar (South Milwaukee, Wis./South Milwaukee), Kathleen Reilly (Edgerton, Wis./Edgerton) and Hannah Sroka (Weyauwega-Fremont, Wis./Weyauwega-Fremont) completed the 4x400-meter relay with a fourth-place finish in a time of 4:18.15. 
 
Makenzie Ward (Kimberly, Wis./Kimberly) and Lydia Ulrich (Lake Mills, Wis./Lakeside Lutheran) tabbed fourth- and fifth-place finishes in the long jump.  The pair jumped distances of 5.12 meters (16' 9.75") and 5.06 meters (16' 7.25"), respectively. 
 
Karen Wethal (Evansville, Wis./Evansville) picked up a fourth- and fifth-place finish in the weight throw and shot put.  She threw distances of 15.00 meters (49' 2.50") and 12.08 meters (39' 7.75"). 
 
Up next, the Pointers travel to Whitewater, Wis. on Feb. 10 for the Midwest Invitational hosted by UW-Whitewater.
