STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The No. 1-ranked UW-Stevens Point men's hockey team (13-0-2, 2-0-0) defeated the Lawrence Vikings (4-10-0, 2-5-0) on Tuesday, 4-1.

Zach Zech (South Lyon, Mich.) doubled the Pointers' lead, tallying a goal at 13:54 of the first period off a pass from junior
Kelly O'Brien (Detroit, Mich.).
Lawrence's Matt Beranek cut the lead in half, scoring a 4-on-4 goal at 2:05 of the second period.
Midway through the third, sophomore
Brandon McReynolds (North Vancouver, B.C.) teamed up with fellow sophomore
Steven Quagliata (Bartlett, Ill.) to score the third Pointers' goal of the night.
At 16:10 of the third, junior
Danny Kiraly (Glendale, Ariz.) scored an insurance goal for the Pointers, increasing the lead to 4-1. McReynolds added an assist.
Sophomore
Connor Ryckman (Minesing, Ont.) started the game, playing the first period, making two saves to earn the win and improve to 13-0-1. Freshman
Eli Billing (Windsor, Ont.) came into the close the game, playing the final two periods, making seven saves. Vikings' goaltender Evan Cline took the loss, making 39 saves.
The Pointers are back in action on Jan. 4 at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
