STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's soccer team (9-2-2) out-shot the visiting No. 15 St. Thomas Tommies (11-1-0), but the lone goal of the match was scored by UST in a 1-0 match on Sunday morning.
The Pointers came out with high intensity to open the match with
Maddy Hardyman (Red Wing, Minn./Red Wing) forcing a UST save in the opening minute. UWSP earned a corner kick six minutes in, but were unable to convert the set piece.

Lexi Pawlowski (Mundelein, Ill./Mundelein) made three saves as the match went to the half knotted at 0-0.
The Pointers opened the second half with two early corners, but could not muster a shot on either. In the 63rd minute, the visitors found the back of the net to take a 1-0 lead.
UWSP forced three more saves from the St. Thomas keeper, but were unable to get one past her in regulation.
Pawlowski made six saves in the match. The Pointers out-shot UST, 12-11. Five different Pointers had two shots apiece with
Jacqueline Aleman (Lemont, Ill./Lemont) and
Meaghan Ambelang (Stuttgart, Germany/Patch/Stuttgart) putting both on frame.
The Pointers return to action next Saturday (Oct. 13) with a 3:00 p.m. match at UW-Whitewater.
