Stevens Point, Wis. – In a matinee showdown on Saturday, the UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team (10-6-2, 1-2-1) fell to UW-River Falls (13-4-2, 3-1-1) in a 6-2 loss.
UWRF's Callie Hoff put the Falcons on the board first 4:01 into the first period. Just 21 seconds into the second period, UWRF tallied a power-play goal to extend the lead to 2-0.

Cara Lemirande (Janesville, WI/Madison Capitols) netted a power-play tally for the Pointers 4:43 into the second period. Lemirande's goal came off a feed from
Ellie Punnett (Hailey, ID/Athol Murray College of Notre Dame) and was her seventh of the season, tying her for the team lead.
Senior
Ali Biagini (Stillwater, MN/Stillwater) scored exactly two minutes later for the Pointers, drawing the game even at 2-2. Biagini's goal was her seventh of the year and came off an assist from
Lauren Smith (Antigo, WI/Antigo).
The Falcons scored a power play goal midway through the second and added a shorthanded tally for a 4-2 lead heading to the third. Hoff scored twice in the third period to round out the scoring.
Pointers' goaltender
Sydney Conley (South St. Paul, MN/South St. Paul) turned away 25 shots for UWSP. UW-River Falls goaltender Angie Hall turned away 19 shots for the Falcons.
The Pointers return to action on Tuesday (Jan. 23) against St. Catherine University. The puck drops at 6:00 p.m. at Ice Hawks Arena.
