Platteville, Wis.-The UW-Stevens Point track and field teams got a first-place finish for its men and a second-place result for the women at the WIAC Triangular hosted by UW-Platteville on Saturday.

Tyler Tanko (Stevens Point, Wis./SPASH),
Alex Egbert (La Crosse, Wis./Aquinas),
Abraham Skwira (Holdingford, Minn./Holdingford),
Josh Schaefer (Lombard, Ill./Glenbard East),
Max Zeitler (Gillett, Wis./Gillett) and
Nick Koschak (Spring Grove, Ill./Richmond Burton) dominated the top seven spots of the 3000-meter run. The group each finished with times ranging between 8:48.69 and 9:21.89.
Evan Torgerson (Weston, Wis./D.C. Everest) earned a first-place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 49.93.
Travis Wollenberg (Cecil, Wis./Bonduel) won the 800-meter run with a time of 1:59.06.
Lee Jepsen (Auburndale, Wis./Auburndale) and
Calden Wojt (Marshfield, Wis./Marshfield) sprinted for second- and third-place finishes in the 60-meter dash. The pair finished with times of 7.12 and 7.20.
Jared Schrang (Oconomowoc, Wis./Oconomowoc) tallied a second-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing with a time of 8.76.
In the 200-meter dash, Vincent Joliffe ran a time of 23.66, good for a fifth-place finish.
Alex Jochman (Kaukauna, Wis./Kaukauna) finished in fifth place in the pole vault. Jochman cleared a height of 4.08 meters (13' 4.5").
On the women's side,
Hannah Mertens (West Bend, Wis./Hartford Union) won the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.42.
Sophomore
Bailey Wolf (Oconto Falls, Wis./Oconto Falls) raced a 10:38.75 in the 3000-meter run to finish in first place.
Anna Hogan (Omro, Wis./Omro) won the triple jump with a distance of 10.89 meters (35' 8.75").
Brooke Wellhausen (Williams Bay, Wis./Big Foot),
Makani Peters (Stevens Point, Wis./SPASH), and
Michelle Petkovsek (Waupaca, Wis./Waupaca) earned the top three spots of the 800-meter finals. The trio each finished with times of 2:22.58, 2:23.29 and 2:23.86.
In the 4x400-meter relay,
Caitlin Falk (Mayville, Wis./Mayville),
Leah Trempe (Combined Locks, Wis./Kimberly),
Michelle Petkovsek (Waupaca, Wis./Waupaca) and Wellhausen finished in second place with a time of 4:10.81.
Trempe finished in third in the 400-meter finals with a time of 1:01.00.
In her first meet of the year,
Grace Van Hammond (Appleton, Wis./Kimberly) finished in third place in the pole vault. Van Hammond cleared a height of 2.76 meters (9' 0.5"). Teammate
Mariah Nelson (Poplar, Wis./Northwestern) finished in fourth place, clearing a 2.76 meters (9' 0.5").
The Pointers travel to Whitewater, Wis. for a series of meets hosted by UW-Whitewater on Jan 26-27. The Whitewater Multi begin at 1:00 p.m. and men compete in the "Squig" Converse Invite at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The women compete on Saturday at the Whitewater Invite beginning at 12:00 p.m.
