APPLETON, Wis. – It didn't take long for the UW-Stevens Point women's soccer team (4-2) to get on the board and they never looked back in a dominating 6-0 win at Lawrence on Wednesday.
Sophomore
Amanda Maestas (Plano, Texas/Plano Senior High) got the scoring started in the second minute of play. She scored her third goal of the season with an assist to
Nora Hargett (Columbia, Mo./Hickman).
Hargett picked up her second of three assists on the day in the sixth minute feeding sophomore
Kassidy Spees (Nekoosa, Wis./), who scored her second of the year.
The lead stood at 2-0 at the half. Shortly after the second-half whistle,
Maddy Hardyman (Red Wing, Minn./Red Wing) tallied her fourth goal of the year with
Kortnee Hass (Johnsburg, Ill./Johnsburg) adding an assist.
Freshman
Gracie Wendels (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis./Assumption) kept pace with the team leaders scoring her fourth of the year, and the Pointers' fourth of the game, in the 61st minute. Spees and Hargett were given assists on the play.
Fellow freshman
Francesca Hamilton (Milwaukee, Wis./St. Thomas More) reclaimed the team-lead outright in the 69th minute. She scored her fifth of the year, an unassisted tally.
In the final minute of the match, freshman
Charity Shaw (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Adlai E. Stevenson) scored off of a corner kick by
Kayla Huber (Wausau, Wis./D.C. Everest). It was her first career goal and Huber's team-lead tying fourth assist of the campaign.

Sarah Peplinski (Stevens Point, Wis./SPASH) was not tested in 74 minutes of play. Freshman keeper
