The UW-Stevens Point track and field team sent athletes to the Drake Relays, St. Norbert Quad and UW-Whitewater Drake Alternative on Saturday. The Pointer men at St. Norbert won the six-team field with a total event score of 177 with the Pointer women finishing fourth with a score of 114.
Drake Relays
Jerry Williams (Watertown, WI/Watertown) finished in eighth place in the long jump. The senior finished with a distance of 6.90 meters (22' 7.75").
St. Norbert Quad Invite (Results)
Brent Reierson (Watertown, WI/Watertown),
Kyle Nowak (Stratford, WI/Stratford) and
Logan Heil (Weston, WI/DC Everest) took the top three spots in the discus. The trio finished with distances of 44.97 meters (147' 06'), 43.20 meters (141' 09") and 41.89 meters (137' 05"). Heil and Reierson went first and second in the hammer throw, finishing with distances of 55.83 meters (183' 02") and 52.96 meters (173' 09"). Reierson also won shot put with a distance of 15.66 meters (51' 4.50").
Chase Franz (Stevens Point, Wis./SPASH) and
Michael Logalbo (Monico, Wis./Crandon) went first and second in the javelin throw with distances of 47.73 meters (156' 07") and 47.71 meter (156' 06").
Christian Ferguson (Milwaukee, Wis./SCTE) and
Brayden Bernhagen (Markesan, Wis./Markesan) placed first and second in the high jump. The pair cleared the bar at heights of 1.97 meters (6' 5.50") and 1.92 meters (6' 3.50").
Nathan Dorn (Waunakee, Wis./Waunakee) finished in second place in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:17.97. Fellow Pointer
Noah Schulze (Land O' Lakes, Wis./Northland Pines) finished in fourth with a time of 4:22.29.
Sheldon Harn (Stevens Point, WI/SPASH) finished in second place in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.95.
Zeth Langworty placed third in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 58.12.
Nick Lawson (Madison, Wis./West) finished in third place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 51.86. Teammate
Alex Egbert (La Crosse, WI/Aquinas) finished in fifth with a time of 52.91.
Jamie Schmitz (Cashton, Wis./Cashton) and
Makenzie Ward (Kimberly, Wis./Kimberly) tied for second-place in the long jump. The pair jumped distances of 5.03 meters (16' 6"). Schmitz also competed in the 100-meter hurdles finishing with a time of 16.71, a time good for third place.
Alex Grubbs (Minong, Wis./Spooner) finished in second place in the javelin throw. Grubbs threw a distance of 37.22 meters (122' 01").
Kara Hoier (New London, WI/New London),
Bailey Boudreau (Wausau, WI/East), and
Samantha Bemke (Edgar, WI/Edgar) went second-third-fourth in the 1500-meter run. The trio finished with times of 5:09.69, 5:24.83, and 5:25.59.
Jamie Watry (Bonduel, WI/Bonduel) finished in fourth place in the high jump. Watry cleared the bar at 1.47 meters (4' 9.75"). Ward finished in fifth place with a height of 1.42 meters (4' 7.75").
UW-Whitewater Invite (Results)
Daniel Sikora (Cary, IL/Cary-Grove) and
Dane Tyler (Janesville, WI/Parker) finished first and third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. The pair finished with times of 10:02.01 and 10:16.00.
Tyler Patoka (Stevens Point, Wis./SPASH) finished fifth in the 400-meter hurdles. Patoka finished his race with a time of 59.04.
Distance runner
Robert Lutz (Greendale, WI/Greendale) finished in fourth place in the 1500-meter run. Lutz finished with a time of 4:12.88.
Calvin VanRyzin (Appleton, WI/North) finished in fifth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:01.29.
Bailey Wolf (Oconto Falls, Wis./Oconto Falls) finished in second place in 1500-meter run with a time of 4:55.63.
Michelle Petkovsek (Waupaca, Wis./Waupaca) finished the 800-meter run in fourth place with a time of 2:27.02.
Makani Peters (Stevens Point, Wis./SPASH) finished the 400-meter dash in fourth place. Peters finished her race with a time of 1:01.57.
The Pointers travel to Platteville, Wis. for the WIAC Outdoor Championships on May 5 and 6.
