PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point track and field team got four event wins on the men's side and another on the women's side on a weather-shortened final day at the UW-Platteville Invitational on Friday.

Senior Neil Pedersen (Clarendon Hills, IL/Hinsdale Central) won the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:00.12.  Teammate Calvin VanRyzin (Appleton, WI/North) crossed at 4:01.35 to finish second.
 
Christian Ferguson (Milwaukee, Wis./SCTE) was the winner in the high jump, clearing a height of 2.06 meters (6' 9").  Brayden Bernhagen (Markesan, Wis./Markesan) placed fourth in the event with a height of 1.93 meters (6' 4").
 
Jerry Williams (Watertown, WI/Watertown) won the long jump with an outdoor personal best distance of 7.36 meters (24' 1.75").  Calden Wojt (Marshfield, Wis./Marshfield) ran a winning time of 21.54 seconds in the 200-meter dash
 
Williams and Wojt teamed with Lee Jepsen (Auburndale, Wis./Auburndale) and Michael Von Schledorn (Lomira, Wis./Lomira) to run a 41.97 in the 4x100-meter relay to place third, just .40 seconds behind the winners.
 
Michale Pomaville picked up a fourth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles.  He finished in a time of 56.20 seconds.
 
In the discus throw, Kyle Nowak (Stratford, WI/Stratford) and Brent Reierson (Watertown, WI/Watertown) both finished in the top-6.  Novak's distance of 47.27 meters (155' 1") was good for fourth while Reierson placed sixth with a distance of 45.69 meters (149' 11").
 
For the women, Isabella Weekly (Plainfield, WI/Tri County) captured the title in the high jump.  She cleared 1.60 meters (5' 3").
 
In the 5,000-meter run, Bailey Boudreau (Wausau, WI/East), Samantha Bemke (Edgar, WI/Edgar) and Kara Hoier (New London, WI/New London) crossed in succession.  Boudreau's time of 19:40.04 was good for third with Bemke coming in at 19:40.71 and Hoier in fifth at 19:44.35.
 
Jordan Tyjeski (Beaver Dam, WI/Beaver Dam) led a trio of discus throwers with finishes in the top-5.  Her throw of 42.71 meters (140' 1") placed her third.  Karen Wethal (Evansville, WI/Evansville) finished fourth with a throw of 41.84 meters (137' 3").  Larkin Hoepner (Eau Claire, Wis./North) placed fifth with a distance of 39.85 meters (130' 9").
 
Abby Clement (Reedsburg, WI/Reedsburg) ran the 200-meter dash in 25.50 seconds to place fourth.  Jacklyn Butler (Oshkosh, WI/West) finished in fourth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:07.22.
 
UWSP will travel to Rock Island, Ill., next weekend for the Augie Invite and the Meet of Champions on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
