STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's basketball team (5-3) used a 42-point second half to get past visiting Ripon College (5-4) by a 66-54 score in the final home non-conference game on Friday night.

Senior Mickey Roland (New London, Wis./New London) led a quartet of double-figure scorers with 11 points.  She also tied for the team lead with five rebounds and added a pair of assists and a steal.

Barrett got UWSP on the board with a layup in the opening minute as UWSP opened with a 4-0 lead.  The Pointers held Ripon without a point for more than three and a half minutes to open the game, but a 7-0 run put the Red Hawks in front.  Geier buried a three and Schmidt scored a bucket in the closing seconds as the team tied at 11-11 after one.

Cerrato and Mickey Roland (New London, Wis./New London) made the only two buckets from the field in the second quarter as Ripon edged the Pointers by a 27-24 score at the half.

The tide turned in UWSP's favor in the third as the Pointers held Ripon scoreless from the field for nearly five minutes in a 7-2 run.  Cerrato nailed a three and Bailee Collins (Milton, Wis./Milton) scored five-straight points as UWSP went ahead 46-39 after three quarters.

Lexi Roland (New London, Wis./New London) extended the lead to 10 points with a steal and a layup near the midpoint of the fourth quarter.  Mickey Roland (New London, Wis./New London) hit a three and Schmidt scored in the final minute to push the lead to a game-high 18 points in the win.
