STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The No. 8/9 UW-Stevens Point rallied to knock off second-ranked Adrian on Tuesday evening at K.B. Willett Arena.
In the third period, senior
Willem Nong-Lambert (Des Moines, Iowa/) put home a loose puck to put UWSP (9-3-1) up 3-2 over Adrian (8-2-0) 11:57 into the final period. The Pointers were unable to tally an empty-net goal in the final 1:18.
Nong-Lambert got the Pointers on the board 12:56 into the game off assists from
Tanner Karty (Oklahoma City, OK/) and
Steven Quagliata (Bartlett, IL), giving UWSP a one-goal advantage entering the second period.
Adrian opened the second period with a two goals in the opening minute from Taylor McCloy and Connor Armour.
Karty evened the game at 2-2 at the 9:30 mark of the middle period, before Nong-Lambert's game-winner in the third period.
Senior goaltender
Max Milosek (Lapeer, MI/) made a season-high 34 saves in the victory.
UWSP concludes the series with Adrian tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. at K.B. Willett Arena.
