Biagini Nets Power Play Tally in Conference Opener

RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team (1-4-1, 0-1-0) got a second-period power play goal from senior Ali Biagini (Stillwater, MN/Stillwater) in a conference-opening 6-1 loss at No. 4/5 UW-River Falls (3-1-1, 1-0-0) on Saturday.

The home standing Falcons got on the board late in the first period to break a scoreless tie and hold a 1-0 lead into the first intermission.

Biagini tied the game at the 7:09 mark of the second period, UWSP's best offensive period of the year.  The goal was her second of the year on an assist from Ellie Punnett (Hailey, ID/Athol Murray College of Notre Dame).  The duo is tied for the team-lead with five points each on the year.

Later in the period, UWRF broke the tie to take a 2-1 lead into the final frame.  In the third period, the Falcons' offense netted four goals to win going away.

Junior goaltender Sydney Conley (South St. Paul, MN/South St. Paul) made 37 saves for the Pointers.

UWSP returns home to face UW-Superior next Saturday (Nov. 18). Puck drop is slated for 2:30 p.m. at Ice Hawks Arena.
