AURORA, Ill- Junior forward
Tanner Karty (Oklahoma City, OK/) netted a pair of third period goals to lead the fifth-ranked UW-Stevens Point men's hockey team to a 6-1 victory over Aurora Friday evening at the Fox Valley Ice Arena.

Entering the final frame with a 4-1 lead, Karty found the back of the net twice in the span of 3:41 to put the game out of reach.

Just 28 seconds into the game, senior captain
Willem Nong-Lambert (Des Moines, Iowa/) scored to give UWSP (1-0-0) a 1-0 lead over Aurora (0-1-0).

With time winding down in the opening period,
Luke McElhenie (Sauk City, WI) gave the Pointers a 2-0 lead, scoring a power-play goal off assists by
Stephan Beauvais (Shelby Township, MI/) and
Kelly O'Brien (Detroit, MI/).

Midway through the second period,
Tristan Conrad (Lockport, IL) tallied his first career goal, putting the Pointers up 3-0. Conrad returned the favor setting up
Drew McLean (Waterford, MI/) three minutes later, giving UWSP a 4-0 advantage entering the third.

At the 7:57 mark of the third period, Anthony Pnewski scored for Aurora before Karty's goals.

Senior goaltender
Max Milosek (Lapeer, MI/) picked up the win, recording 13 saves. Jake Gwillim made 28 saves for Aurora.
UWSP finished 1-for-4 on the man advantage.
