WAUKESHA, Wis. -- The UW-Stevens Point women's soccer team (4-6-0) saw its three-match win streak come to an end in a 3-0 setback at Carroll University (7-2-1) on Tuesday evening.
THe Pioneers found the back of the net in the second minute of play to put the Pointers down early. Sophomore Elise Thuot (Hatley, WI/D.C. Everest) for the home keeper to make her first save of the match in the 22nd minute.
A few minutes later, the Pioneers followed back-to-back corner kicks with another first half goal. The home side added a third goal in the 82nd minute to put the match out of reach.
Thuot forced the Carroll keeper to make two more saves before the final whistle, but was unable to get one past her.
UWSP returns home on Saturday for the WIAC opener with a 1:00 p.m. tilt versus UW-La Crosse.
