STEVENS POINT, Wis.— Junior forward Danielle Thomason (Stevens Point, WI/SPASH) found the back of the net in the 45th minute to lead the UW-Stevens Point women's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over North Central on Saturday afternoon at the Point Soccer Bowl.
With just under 20 seconds remaining in the first half, Thomason found Emma Alderman's pass and put it in the top right corner, scoring her third goal of the season, to give UWSP (4-5-0) an advantage over North Central (1-5-2) at the break.
In the second half, the Pointers put up eight shots, but were unable to extend their lead.
Sophomore goalkeeper Sarah Peplinksi recorded seven saves earning her first complete game shutout as a Pointer, extending her steak of minutes without allowing a goal to 190.
UW-Stevens Point returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 27 , traveling to Carroll, for 7 p.m. kick.
