OSHKOSH, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point baseball team split its doubleheader matchup at UW-Oshkosh Saturday afternoon, falling in the first game 6-3 before taking the second 4-2.

The Titans (14-16-1, 6-8 WIAC) scored three runs in the first two innings and added three more in the fifth as they were able to hold off the Pointers (17-15, 8-6 WIAC) in game one of the doubleheader.
The Titans got two runs in the first inning on a hit by pitch and an RBI groundout by Tyler Kozlowski, and added another in the second inning on an RBI single by Logan Reckert. The Pointers got a run back in the fourth inning on an RBI double by
Peter Strommen (Madison, WI/East) scoring
Ryan Stanicek (Loves Park, IL/Boylan Catholic).
Kozlowski then drove in a pair of runs on a double in the fifth inning, and the Titans added one more on an RBI double by Taylor Grimm.
The Pointers staged a rally in the eighth inning, where they scored two runs.
Turner Doornink (Clintonville, WI/Clintonville) drove in
Cody Hanke (Marathon, WI/Marathon) with an RBI double and later scored on another double by Strommen. Strommen led the Pointers offensively by going 3-4 with two RBIs. Doornink also had two hits in the game.
Johnny Eagan had three hits for the Titans, all doubles. Kozlowski also had three hits and 3 RBIs. Jesse Sustachek picked up the win for the Titans, allowing three runs and striking out four over 7.2 innings.
Mark Kowalke (Baraboo, WI/Baraboo) took the loss, allowing six runs and six runs and nine hits in five innings.

Parker Sadowski (Beaver Dam, WI/Beaver Dam) hit a two-run double in the eighth inning to give the Pointers a 4-2 win in game two. Hanke singled to lead off the inning and Strommen was hit by a pitch to put two runners on. With two outs, Sadowski delivered the game-winning double to right field.
The Pointers struck first with two unearned runs in the first inning on an RBI single by Doornink and Hanke scoring on a throwing error from a fielder's choice by
William Iloncaie (East Troy, WI/East Troy).
Neither team scored again until the sixth inning, when the Titans tied the game on a two-run home run by Robbie Kleman.
Luke Thomka (Muskego, WI/Muskego) picked up the win for the Pointers, pitching seven innings giving up two runs on five hits while striking out seven.
Drew Spaeth (Stratford, WI/Stratford) pitched the final two innings to pick up the save.
Ben Messenger pitched all nine innings for the Titans, allowing four runs on six hits with seven strikeouts. Eagan had two hits and a run for the Titans.
The Pointers and Titans are back at it tomorrow in Oshkosh
for a doubleheader, with game times scheduled for noon and 3 p.m.
