OSHKOSH, Wis.- The UW-Stevens Point baseball team once again split with WIAC foe, UW-Oshkosh this Sun., May 1 afternoon at Tiedemann Field, dropping game one7-6 and winning game two 16-2 (7 inn.)

The Pointers (18-16, 9-7 WIAC) rallied in the top of the eighth inning to tie the game 6-6, but the Titans (15-7-1, 7-9 WIAC) won the game on a Noah Polcyn's bases-loaded single with one out in the ninth inning.
The Pointers got a run in the top of the second after
Clint Rose (Watertown, WI/Watertown) doubled to right center, scoring
Kyle Mrozinski (Ashwaubenon, WI/Ashwaubenon). The Titans responded in the bottom half of the inning, scoring two unearned runs after a Pointer throwing error.
The two teams exchanged runs in the next few innings, eventually leading to the Pointers to tie the game at six in the eighth inning.
Peter Strommen (Madison, WI/East) started the inning with a double to left field and advanced to third after
William Iloncaie (East Troy, WI/East Troy) singled to center after
Sawyer Schultz (Appleton, WI/North) flied out to right field. Strommen crossed the plate after
Clint Rose (Watertown, WI/Watertown) flied out to right field for the sacrifice RBI. Iloncaie also advanced on the sacrifice fly and scored the next at-bat after a Titan passed ball to tie the game.
In the bottom of the ninth, the Titans reached on a hit by pitch to begin the inning, followed by back-to-back bunt singles. The Pointers looked to get out of the inning and go into extra innings after a fielder's choice, but Titans Polcyn singled to left field for the game winner.
Cody Hanke (Marathon, WI/Marathon),
Clint Rose (Watertown, WI/Watertown) and
Ben Gerber (Stoughton, WI/Stoughton) led the Pointers with two hits each.

The Pointers scored 16 runs on 17 hits in game two winning 16-2, run ruling the Titans.
Eight of the Pointers 16 runs came in the third inning off of two hits, two Titan errors, and two Pointers hit by pitch.
Turner Doornink (Clintonville, WI/Clintonville) highlighted the inning with a double to left center, clearing the bases. Doornink eventually scored on a wild pitch.
The Pointers scored two more runs in the fifth and three run in the sixth inning to solidify the win.
Both Doornink (4-for-6, six RBI) and Sadowski (4-for5, two RBI) led the Pointers with four hits each.Â
Alex Thompson (Tomah, WI/Tomah) (3-0) picked up the win going five innings, scattering six hits and giving up two runs.
The Pointers are back in action Tues., May 3 as they travel to Benedictine for a evening double header. The first pitch is set for 3 p.m.
