Adrian jumped out to a 2-0 lead by the 13:01 mark of the first on goals by Brett Pinkerton and Taylor McCloy. Lawrence Cornellier (Machesney Park, IL/Harlem) got UW-Stevens Point on the board by tapping in a goal from in front off feeds from Jacob Barber (Dardenne Prairie, MO) and Kyle Sharkey (Moore, OK/Insight School of Kansas).

Just 26 seconds into the second period, Jono Davis (La Verne, CA) ripped a wristshot into the top corner to tie the game at 2-2. Midway through the second, Joe Kalisz (Davison, MI/Davison) fired a power-play goal, beating Kevin Entmaa on the short side to give the Pointers their first lead of the night.

Eliot Grauer (Mukilteo, WA/Kamiak) doubled UW-Stevens Point's lead at 12:56 of the second, knocking in a rebound off a Davis shot. Less than three minutes later, Adrian cut its deficit to 4-3 when Mathew Thompson was left alone in the slot at 15:42, leaving the Pointers with a one-goal lead headed to the third.

At 3:06 of the third period, the puck came to Nick D'Avolio (North Riverside, IL) in the slot and the senior beat the Dillon Kelley on the glove side to re-establish UW-Stevens Point's two-goal lead. The Pointers continued to lead by two until Brothers scored on the backhand from McCloy and Thompson to get the visitors within one.

Kyle Sharkey (Moore, OK/Insight School of Kansas) gave UW-Stevens Point an insurance goal with 4:42 remaining, redirecting a Kalisz shot from the point and the Pointers held on the rest of the way.

Kalisz led six Pointers with multi-point nights with a goal and three assists. Grauer, Davis and Sharkey each had a goal and an assist.
