STEVENS POINT, Wis. –The UW-Stevens Point women's track & field team placed second at the Pointer Quad behind four individual event wins on Saturday afternoon at the Multi-Activity Center.
Results Three of UW-Stevens Point's four event wins came on the track.
Leah Trempe (Combined Locks, WI/Kimberly) won the 400-meter dash in 58.93 seconds.
Kathy Derks (Greenville, WI/Hortonville) took home the 800-meter dash in 2:17.42 and
Holly Winberg (Forest Lake, MN/Forest Lake) claimed the one-mile run in 5:20.56.
The fourth event win came from
Shannon Burke (Sussex, WI/Hamilton), who won the pole vault by clearing 3.40 meters (11' 7.75").
Amelia Fass (Madison, WI/James Madison) posted a runner-up finish in the 5,000-meter run (18:51.18).
UW-Stevens Point compiled 110 points to finish behind No. 3 UW-La Crosse, which won the meet with 296 points. Fourth-ranked UW-Oshkosh was third with 96, followed by UW-Whitewater with 65.
The Pointers host the Big Dawg Invite on Saturday, Feb. 20 at the Multi-Activity Center.
