PLYMOUTH, Mich.— The United States National Development U18 Team scored a pair of goals in the third period, to defeat the UW-Stevens Point men's hockey team 3-1 in an exhibition game on Sunday afternoon at the USA Hockey Arena.

With just 40 seconds remaining in the third period, Brady Tkachuk scored an empty net goal putting Team USA up 3-1 to seal the victory.
In the first period, Logan Cockerill scored an unassisted goal to give Team USA a 1-0 lead midway through the opening 20.
With 2:45 reaming in the opening period, Willem Nong-Lambert (Des Moines, Iowa ) got the Pointers on the board, scoring a power-play goal off assists by Tanner Karty (Oklahoma City, OK) and Jono Davis (La Verne, CA) to even the game heading into the first intermission.
After a scoreless second period, Scott Reedy scored 31 seconds into the final period to regain the Team USA lead, before Tkachuk's insurance goal.
Team USA outshot the Pointers 33-25. Max Milosek (Lapeer, MI) made 30 saves for UWSP while University of Michigan recruit Dylan St. Cyr made 23 for Team USA.
UWSP returns to action on Friday, Dec. 2 opening Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) play, hosting UW-River Falls, before traveling to UW-Superior on Dec. 3. Both games are scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
