Box Score STEVENS POINT,Wis.-Sophomore Stephan Beauvais (Shelby Township, MI) scored at the 3:42 mark in the overtime period to lift the UW-Stevens Point men's hockey team to 3-2 victory over Lawrence on Saturday evening at K.B. Willett Arena and landed head coach Chris Brooks's 100th career win at the helm of the Pointers.

With time running down in the extra frame, sophomore Tanner Karty (Oklahoma City, OK) found Beauvais open in the slot where he netted his second goal of the night to give UWSP (2-0-0) the victory.

In the first period, senior Jacob Barber (Dardenne Prairie, MO) got the Pointers out to an early lead, scoring 3:43 into the opening period off assists by Kyle Sharkey (Moore, OK/Insight School of Kansas) and Lawrence Cornellier (Machesney Park, IL/Harlem).

At the 14:06 mark of second period, Lawrence's (0-2-0) Sean Reynolds evened the game at one, before Beauvais tallied his first goal of the night just 17 seconds later retaking the lead entering the final period.

In the third period, Matt Montemurro scored on the power play to force an extra period, before Beauvais' heroics in overtime.
UWSP outshot the Vikings 43-14. Sophomore goaltender Jesse Gordichuk (Penticton, BC) made 12 saves for the Pointers while Greg Procopio made 40 saves for Lawrence.

The Pointers will return to action next weekend traveling to Minnesota for a pair of non-conference games, taking on Gustavus Adolphus and Bethel on Nov. 4 and 5. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. for both contest.
