EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - The No. 10 UW-Stevens Point men's track & field team and the women's track & field team competed at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Tri at UW-Eau Claire on Saturday, Jan. 23. The meet was not scored.
ResultsHolly Winberg (Forest Lake, MN/Forest Lake) finished second in the one mile run, posting a time of 5:21.09.
Jacklyn Butler (Oshkosh, WI/West) posted the top time in the prelims and then won the finals of the 55-meter hurdles, posting a time of 8.56 in the finals.
Jordan Richards (Stevens Point, WI/SPASH) and
Jerry Williams (Watertown, WI/Watertown) finished 1-2 in the finals of the 55-meter dash, posting times of 6.53 and 6.54, respectively.
Sarah Vils (Mosinee, WI/Mosinee) finished as the runner-up in the 800-meter run, posting a time of 2:25.56.
The Pointers collected second through sixth place in the men's 200-meter dash, with
Jerry Williams (Watertown, WI/Watertown) leading the way with a time of 23.07.
Neil Pedersen (Clarendon Hills, IL/Hinsdale Central) won the men's 3,000-meter run finishing over eight seconds ahead of the pack in a time of 8:42.34.
The men's 4x400-meter relay also posted the top finish of the day, finishing in a time of 3:26.77.
Shannon Burke (Sussex, WI/Hamilton) and
Angela Breunig (Watertown, WI/Watertown) finished 1-2 in the pole vault, with Burke clearing 3.68 meters (12' 0.75") and Breunig clearing 3.38 meters (11' 1.0").
Jordan Richards (Stevens Point, WI/SPASH) and
Matthew Miller (Hillsboro, WI/Kickapoo) finished 1-2 in the long jump, with Richards posting a jump of 6.50 (21' 4.0") and Miller jumping 6.13 meters (20" 1.5").
Isabella Weekly (Plainfield, WI/Tri County) finished runner-up in the long jump with a distance of 5.01 meters (16' 5.25").
Jerry Williams (Watertown, WI/Watertown) finished runner-up in the triple jump with a distance of 13.52 meters (44' 4.25") and
Alec Dix (WIld Rose, WI/Wild Rose) finished third with a jump of 13.22 meters (43' 4.5").
Logan Heil (Weston, WI/DC Everest) finished runner-up in the men's weight throw with a toss of 17.36 meters (56' 11.5").
Kadie Flynn (Appleton, WI/North) and
Andrea Ball (North Fond du, Lac, WI/Horace Mann) finished 2-3 in the weight throw, with Flynn posting a distance of 15.55 meters (51' 0.25"). Ball posted a throw of 14.80 meters (48' 6.75").
Flynn won the shot put with a throw of 12.90 meters (42' 4.0").
The men, ranked No. 10 in the country by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), are back in action at the Squig Converse Invite and Multi in Whitewater on Friday, Jan. 29. The women compete at the Whitewater Classic the following day.
