Warhawks down women's soccer 5-0

Stevens Point, WI – Visiting UW-Whitewater scored three early goals and went on to defeat the UW-Stevens Point women's soccer 5-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Point Soccer Bowl.

The Warhawks scored three goals in the first 15 minutes of the game. With the win, UW-Whitewater improve to 7-2-0 (1-0-0 WIAC), while UW-Stevens Point fall to 2-8-0 (0-2-0 WIAC) with the loss.
 
UW-Whitewater's Brianna Reid beat Pointers goalie Kristen Churkey (Mosinee, WI/D.C. Everest) after three dribbles in a one-on-one to put the Warhawks on the board first. Within a 10-minute span, the Warhawks tacked on two more goals. The Warhawks added two more goals in the second half to shut out the Pointers.
 
The Pointers managed six shots in the game, one on goal from Abbie Ullrich (Johnsburg, IL/Johnsburg).
 
UW-Stevens Point has a quick turnaround as the Pointers look to get back on track against North Park at Holmgren Athletic Complex. Kickoff is at 4 p.m.
