APPLETON, Wis. - Despite outshooting Lawrence, the UW-Stevens Point soccer team was shut out 2-0 by the Vikings on Wednesday evening at Whiting Field.
Box Score Ryan Berkley scored a couple late goals in the second half to help improve the Vikings' overall record to 3-2-0 with the win, while the loss drops the Pointers to 2-4-0.
The Pointers more than doubled up their opponents in shots, out shooting the Vikings 33-12 with 11 shots on goal, but Viking goalkeeper Patsy Kealy kept the Pointers' offense at bay.Â
Berkley scored in the 66th and 73rd minute mark, giving UW-Stevens Point little time to answer back.
The Pointers look at get back on track on Saturday, Sept. 18 at UW-Stout as they begin Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) play. The match is slated to begin at 2 p.m. at Nelson Field.
