Kadie Flynn (Appleton, WI/North) set a new school record in the weight throw on Friday as the UW-Stevens Point women's track & field team opened the outdoor season with a runner-up finish at the Rex Foster Invitational Meet, hosted by UW-Whitewater.
ResultsFlynn broke the school record in the hammer throw by nearly three feet, finishing third in the event (53.41m, 175' 3"). The throw is the fifth-best in all of NCAA Division III this season.
Ana Breit (Wisconsin Rapids, WI/Pacelli) took home the top spot in the 1,500-meter run, finishing in 4:53.60
Jacklyn Butler (Oshkosh, WI/West) was the top finisher in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:06.50
Paige Haberkorn (Oconomowoc, WI/Oconomowoc) finished as the runner-up in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, finishing in 11:56.58
Shannon Burke (Sussex, WI/Hamilton) took home the top spot in the pole vault, clearing 3.50 meters (11' 5.75")
Audra Weis (Burlington, WI/Burlington) was third, clearing 3.35 meters (10' 11.75").
The Pointers return to action on Saturday, April 11 at the UW-Platteville Invitational.
