DE PERE, Wis. –
Takuto Kobayashi (Franklin, WI/Franklin) won the 400-meter hurdles and
Jordan Richards (Stevens Point, WI/SPASH) wont he long jump, as the UW-Stevens Point men's outdoor track & field team competed at the Wisconsin Private College Track & Field Championships on Saturday afternoon at Donald J. Schneider Stadium.
Results Kobayashi claimed the individual title in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 56.81, while
Michael Pomaville (Dousman, WI/Mukwonago) took third (58.20).
Richards (6.94m, 22' 9.25") and
Matthew Weise (Athens, WI/Athens) (6.64m, 21' 9.50") also finished first and third in the long jump.
Derek McAllister (Milwaukee, WI/Oak Creek) was one of three competitors to tie for second in the pole vault, clearing 3.95 meters (12' 11.50").
Freshman
Tylar Kohnke (North Fond du Lac, WI/Horace Mann) was the runner-up in the javelin throw (48.99m, 160' 9") for his second-straight top-five finish.
Joseph Kinscher (Manitowoc, WI/Valders) and
Sheldon Harn (Stevens Point, WI/SPASH) each recorded third-place finishes for the Pointers. Kinscher was third in the 1,500-meter run (4:14.55), while Harn took third in the 110-meter hurdles (15.75s).
UW-Stevens Point was not scored in the team results at the meet. The Pointers compete at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships in La Crosse on Friday and Saturday, May 1-2.
