Jordon Schreiner (Kaukauna, WI/Kaukauna) and Paige Allen (South Elgin, IL/South Elgin) hit back-to-back home runs in the third to help UW-Stevens Point (7-12, 1-1 WIAC) build a 5-0 lead and Miranda Morrison (Madison, WI/East) threw a complete game for the Pointers. Megan Nelson's three-run home run in the fourth was the only scoring UW-Superior (15-5, 1-1 WIAC) managed off Morrison.

UW-Stevens Point led 2-0 after an inning thanks to a two-run double to right center by Katie Uhlenbrauck (Hortonville, WI/Hortonville) and the Pointers added to their lead in the third. Schreiner hit a two-run blast to right and Allen followed with a home run to left. Allen and Schreiner combined for five of UWSP's seven hits, going 5-for-5 in the game.

Morrison held the Yellowjackets to three runs on six hits in seven innings to earn her third win of the season. The Pointers scored all six of their runs off starter Sarah Hendrickson before Macy Hanson held UWSP scoreless for the final 2.2 innings.

UW-Stevens Point led 1-0 entering the seventh but Kristen Haider hit a leadoff home run to right center for the Yellowjackets to send the game to extra innings. UW-Superior went on to score twice in the ninth to salvage the split.

Sydney Gorges (Hortonville, WI/Hortonville) shut down the Yellowjackets for the first six frames and took the hard-luck loss after working 8.2 innings. The sophomore allowed three runs, two earned, on seven hits in the game.

UWSP scratched across an unearned run in the bottom of the fourth. After Bailie Sheahan (Salem, WI/Wilmot Union) and Schreiner singled, Allen reached on a fielder's choice and Sheahan came around to score on an error.

The score remained 1-0 until Haider's home run and UWS added runs on a single by Shelley Misco and a double by Sasha Fjeran in the ninth. Hanson earned the win with 4.1 innings of shutout relief for the Yellowjackets. Cori Semler (Hartford, WI/Hartford Union) and Alison Kuhne (New Berlin, WI/West ) each had two hits for the Pointers.

UW-Stevens Point hosts UW-Eau Claire for a doubleheader on Friday, April 3, starting at 3 p.m. at McCarty Memorial Field.
