WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. –
Jerry Williams (Watertown, WI/Watertown) finished third in the triple jump and distance medley relay team of
Michael Evans (Reedsville, WI/Valders),
Matt Sosinsky (Princeton, WI/Princeton),
Ryan Wierzba (Rosholt, WI/Rosholt) and
Calvin VanRyzin (Appleton, WI/North) took sixth to both earn All-American honors at the 2015 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships.
Results Williams was an All-American in the triple jump for the second time in his career, after placing sixth outdoors last season. The sophomore took third with a jump of 14.58 meters (47' 10"), finishing only behind two seniors. Williams is the first-ever UWSP All-American in the indoor triple jump.
Evans, Sosinsky, Wierzba and VanRyzin placed sixth in the distance medley relay (10:01.98) to make it two years in a row that UW-Stevens Point has had an All-American unit in the DMR. Wierzba was also part of last season's seventh-place relay.
Dennis Haak (Belleville, WI/Belleville) was also part of the 2013-14 relay and competed in the mile run this season, coming in 14th in the preliminaries (4:22.16).
As a team, UW-Stevens Point was 10th in the team standings with nine points after the first day of the meet.
