STEVENS POINT, Wis. – A
Hannah Smith (Spokane, WA/East Valley) rebound goal midway through the third period proved to be the eventual game-winner as No. 8 UW-Stevens Point handed No. 5 Adrian College its first loss of the season, skating to the 2-1 victory Saturday afternoon at Ice Hawks Arena.

Kat Nejedlo (Fond du Lac, WI/Fond du Lac) scored six minutes in, giving the Pointers the early 1-0 advantage.
Adrian evened the score five minutes into the second when Courtney Millar snuck a shot past
Janna Beilke-Skoug (Madison, WI/East), knotting the score at 1-1.
In the third, Smith scored the game-winner at the 10:22 mark, scoring off the rebound, unassisted, putting the Pointers in front, 2-1.
Beilke-Skoug made five of her 22 saves down the stretch and stoned the Bulldogs to pick up her 14th victory of the season.
The Pointers close out the regular season with a pair of Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) games at home, Friday and Saturday, Feb. 13-14, hosting UW-Superior at Ice Hawks. Game time Friday is scheduled for 7 p.m.
