Nejedlo scored for the ninth time this season from Nicole Schaub (Vadnais Heights, MN/White Bear Lake)at 5:34 of the first period for UW-Stevens Point (15-7-2, 5-4-2 WIAC). However, UW-Superior (15-8-0, 5-6-0 WIAC) fought back with goals by Pamela McLeod and Kiara De Kezel.

The Yellowjacket win means home-ice advantage in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championship semifinals remains up for grabs between the two teams. The loss is just the second at Ice Hawks Arena this season for the Pointers, who fall to 9-2-1 at home.

McLeod tied the game early in the second period, scoring unassisted at 1:21. The score remained tied at 1-1 until Hailey Adair set up De Kezel for the game-winner with 11:01 remaining.

UW-Stevens Point held a 28-18 advantage in shots in the game, including an 8-3 edge in the final period.

Megan Leikkari made 27 saves in the win for the Yellowjackets, while Janna Beilke-Skoug (Madison, WI/East) turned aside 16 for the Pointers.

Neither team was able to capitalize on the power play, as UW-Superior was 0-for-2 and UW-Stevens Point was 0-for-3.

The two teams play for home ice in the final game of the regular season at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 14 at Ice Hawks Arena.
