STEVENS POINT, Wis. - The No. 2-ranked UW-Stevens Point mens hockey team scored five goals from four different players, improving to 3-0-0 by defeating Gustavus Adolphus 5-1 on Friday evening at K.B. Willett Arena.

With five goals tonight against GustavusAdolphus (1-1-1), the Pointers have now brought their season total up to 21 goals to average seven goals per game.
Jacob Barber (Dardenne Prairie, MO) opened the scoring for the Pointers netting his first goal of the season putting
Nathan Harris (Fowlerville, MI)' rebound shot home at the 5:33 mark of the first period.
Kyle Sharkey (Moore, OK/Insight School of Kansas) would give the Pointers a boost just three minutes later scoring off assists from
Joe Kalisz (Davison, MI/Davison) and Lawrence Cornieller. Gustavus would get one back in the first period on a Mike Fabie goal.
In the second period, Kalisz would get one of his own, scoring his fourth goal of the season assisted by Harris, who would finish the night with two assists. The Pointers would not look back, adding two more goals in the third period. Sharkey opened the third period putting home his fourth goal of the season and his second of the night just 50 seconds in. Evan Dixon (Novi, MI) would seal the UWSP victory with his second goal of the season with five minutes remaining in the game, putting the Pointers up 5-1.
Sophomore goaltender
Max Milosek (Lapeer, MI) earned his second victory of the year, allowing one goal and making 15 saves, seven in the first period alone. In his two starts this season, Milosek has posted a .902 save percentage.
After four trips to the penalty box tonight, the Pointer penalty-killing unit remains unblemished this season, killing off all nine taken penalties.
UWSP will be back in action on Saturday, Nov. 7 taking on Bethel University at K.B. Willett Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. The team will be collecting canned goods for The Cupboard, UW-Stevens Point's on-campus foodshelf.
