STEVENS POINT, Wis. – Heading into the final weekend of the regular season and needing at least one victory to secure a spot in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) tournament, the 16th-ranked UW-Stevens Point volleyball team used a mix of offense and defense to earn a 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-10) victory over UW-Stout.

The Pointers hit .238 on the evening with just eight attack errors on 143 total attacks.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Pointers had four players finish with double-digit digs, paced by 24 from senior
Hannah Picel (West Bend, WI/West).
The Pointers were also aided by 11 total blocks, five (2 solo, 6 assisted) from senior middle
Emma Brunkhorst (Germantown, WI/Germantown). The Pointer defense also held the Blue Devils attack to just a .086 hitting percentage (35-23-139).
The Pointers (23-7, 3-3 WIAC) return to action Saturday, Oct. 31 when they host UW-River Falls in the final regular season contest of the season. Senior Day action in Berg Gym gets underway at 1 p.m.
