Garrett Ladd (Fenton, MI/Fenton) tallied his third straight multi-point game, finishing with a goal and three assists to lead the third-ranked UW-Stevens Point men's hockey team to a 6-2 win in a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) matchup on Friday night at Dunn County Ice Arena.

Ladd's four points gave him nine in the last three games, while

Kevin Gibson (Grosse Pointe, MI/North),
Kyle Sharkey (Moore, OK/Insight School of Kansas) and
Drew Graves (Allen Park, MI/Allen Park ) each had two points for the Pointers (16-2-2, 4-2-1 WIAC). Craig Lindegard and Kevin O'Donnell scored for UW-Stout (6-14-0, 2-5-0 WIAC), who had defeated UWSP 3-2 on December 7.
UW-Stevens Point led 2-0 early in the second period after a first-period power-play goal by
Alex Brooks (Grand Rapids, MI/) and a second-period goal by
Kyle Heck (Plover, WI/SPASH). UW-Stout then got within a goal on Kevin O'Donnell's power-play goal.
However, the Pointers responded by scoring the next four goals of the game to take a commanding 6-1 lead.
Kevin Gibson (Grosse Pointe, MI/North) extended his point streak to six games with his fifth goal of the season, making it 3-1.
Even-strength goals by Sharkey, his 10th of the season, and Grauer put UWSP up 5-1 early in the third. Ladd then scored UW-Stevens Point's final goal of the night, his 17th goal of the season. The Pointers outshot the Blue Devils 40-33 in the game, led by Ladd's game-high seven shots.
Brandon Jaeger (Champlin, MN/Champlin Park) made 31 saves for UW-Stevens Point, while UW-Stout's Corey Koop kept out 34 UWSP shots. Both of the Blue Devils goals came on the power play, as both teams were 2-for-7 with the man advantage.
The two teams play for the third and final time this regular season on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m in Menomonie.
