STEVENS POINT, Wis. – Five players scored in double figures as the No. 23-ranked UW-Stevens Point men's basketball team shot a season-best 65.3 percent from the floor in a 77-54 victory over visiting UW-Superior in a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) game on Saturday afternoon at Bennett Court at Quandt Fieldhouse on Youth/Honor America Day.

The win was the 25th consecutive win for the Pointers in the series against UW-Superior (4-5, 0-2 WIAC), dating back to 2004.
Alex Richard (Spring Green, WI/River Valley) made 6-of-7 shots from the floor on his way to a game-high 16 points and was in double figures for the fifth time this season.
Sean McGann (Baraboo, WI/Baraboo) came off the bench to score 15, while
Austin Ryf (Winneconne, WI/Winneconne) shot 6-for-8 from the field for 14 points.
Stephen Pelkofer (Hales Corner, WI/Whitnall) and
Joe Ritchay (Wisconsin Rapids, WI/Lincoln) added 12 and 10 points, respectively.
UW-Stevens Point led by nine at halftime thanks to an 11-0 advantage in points off turnovers in the first 20 minutes. The Pointers came out of halftime by scoring 15 of the first 20 points in the second half to establish a 53-32 lead with 13:30 remaining. UWSP made seven of its first eight shots during the run.
The closest UW-Superior got the rest of the way was 16 with 8:37 to play. UW-Stevens Point led by as many as 28 in the final 90 seconds before UWS scored the game's final five points.
The Yellowjackets led just twice in the game, while the Pointers led for 36:19 of game time. UWSP held advantages of 54-16 in points in the paint and 19-3 in points of turnovers in the game.
UW-Stevens Point committed just three turnovers in the game, the fewest by a UWSP team since the 2012-13 team turned the ball over three times in a win versus Edgewood on Dec. 15, 2012. The Pointers matched their season-high with 12 steals, led by a career-best four from Richard.
UWSP hits the road for its first WIAC game away from Quandt Fieldhouse this season at UW-Stout on Wednesday, Dec. 10 at 7 p.m.
