STEVENS POINT, Wis. –
Rachel Reynard (Hortonville, WI/Hortonville),
Hannah Smith (Spokane, WA/East Valley) and
Emily Lester (Eau Claire, WI/Memorial) scored and
Janna Beilke-Skoug (Madison, WI/East) made 18 saves to guide the sixth-ranked UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team to a 3-0 non-conference win over visiting Marian on Tuesday night at Ice Hawks Arena.

Betsy Anderson (Farmington, MN/Farmington).
Reynard's goal with 47 seconds remaining in the first period turned out to be the game-winning tally. The goal was the third of the season for the junior and was assisted by
Megan Menotti (Vernon Hills, IL/Chicago Mission) and
Meredith Ingbretson (Hayward, WI/Hayward).
The Pointers doubled their lead on a short-handed goal by
Hannah Smith (Spokane, WA/East Valley) at 2:40 of the second period. Smith's goal was her second of the season and was unassisted.
Lester added her team-best seventh goal of the season on the power play at the 6:33 mark of the final period off assists from Anderson and
Nicole Schaub (Vadnais Heights, MN/White Bear Lake). Anderson recorded an assist for the fourth consecutive game.
UW-Stevens Point held Marian scoreless on three power-play opportunities. Amanda Alexander made 45 saves in the loss for the Sabres.
The Pointers return to Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) action with a home-and-home weekend series against UW-Eau Claire on Dec. 5-6. The Pointers and Blugolds play in Eau Claire on Friday at 7 p.m. and in Stevens Point the following evening at 7 p.m.
