HANCOCK, Mich. – Kaitlyn Jacobs (New Franken, WI/Green Bay Preble) scored a career-high 16 points and Eleni Seitz (Marshfield, WI/Marshfield) added 10, also a career-best, as the UW-Stevens Point women's basketball team posted a 56-48 victory over the Lions of Finlandia University on Wednesday evening.

The Pointers shot 39 percent from the floor in the opening half, while holding the Lions to just six field goals (6-29 .207), building an eight-point edge at the break.

In the second half, the Pointers continued to add to their lead, building a 20-point edge, 48-28, with 8:21 remaining.

The Lions began to chip away at the Pointers' lead over the final minutes, but the Pointers bench helped UWSP secure the victory, holding a 31-19 edge in scoring.

Jacobs added five rebounds to her career-best night, while Seitz tallied a team-best six rebounds. Jamie Destache (Sussex, WI/Sussex-Hamilton) chipped in with nine points, six from the free-throw line, and Lexi Roland (New London, WI/New London) added seven points, both off the bench.

Marissa Burke led the Lions with 13 points and collected a team-high nine rebounds in the loss.

UW-Stevens Point (2-1) returns home to face Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday, Nov. 22 at 2 p.m. in Berg Gym. Saturday is also Family Day for the Pointers.
