RIVER FALLS, Wis. –
Meredith Ingbretson (Hayward, WI/Hayward) scored the game-winning goal with 1:59 remaining as the seventh-ranked UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team edged fifth-ranked UW-River Falls 3-2 on Saturday afternoon at Hunt Arena.

Betsy Anderson (Farmington, MN/Farmington), as UW-Stevens Point (5-1, 1-1 WIAC) held off UW-River Falls (3-2, 1-1 WIAC). The Falcons had recovered from a two-goal deficit for the second-straight game prior to Ingbretson's winner.
The Pointers established a 2-0 lead early in the second period on goals by
Megan Menotti (Vernon Hills, IL/Chicago Mission) and
Hannah Smith (Spokane, WA/East Valley). Menotti scored on the power play with 16 seconds left in the first period before Smith scored an even-strength goal at the 4:59 mark of the second. Both goals were assisted by
Jamie Ertl (Menomonee Falls, WI/Menomonee Falls).
The Falcons hit right back with two goals by Chloe Kinsel in just under two minutes. Kinsel scored her first 35 seconds after Smith's tally and added a second 1:55 later to knot the score at 2-2.
UW-River Falls outshot UW-Stevens Point 28-24 in the game but
Janna Beilke-Skoug (Madison, WI/East) made 13 of her 26 saves in the final period. Angie Hall made 21 saves in the loss for UWRF.
The Pointers were 1-for-2 on the power play and held the Falcons scoreless on four tries with the extra skater.
UW-Stevens Point plays at UW-Superior on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 21-22.
