OSHKOSH, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's soccer team was defeated 3-0 by host UW-Oshkosh in a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) match on Wednesday evening at J.J. Keller Field at Titan Stadium.
Box ScoreUW-Oshkosh (10-6-1, 6-1 WIAC) got goals from Megan White, Kali Jahn and Robyn Elliott in the win. The Titans outshot UW-Stevens Point (7-9-1, 2-4-1 WIAC) 22-13 overall and 11-7 in shots on goal in the game.
The game was scoreless for the first 37 minutes until White broke the deadlock with her second goal of the season. Jahn made it 2-0 at the 57:29 mark off an assist by White before Elliott capped the scoring after being set up by Nicole Palmquist.
Kristen Churkey (Mosinee, WI/D.C. Everest) made seven saves in net for the Pointers, while Nina Muzi kept out seven for the Titans.
Jillian Ross (Waunakee, WI/Waunakee) led the UW-Stevens Point offense with two shots on goal.
UW-Stevens Point takes on UW-Stout on Saturday, Nov. 1 at Point Soccer Bowl in a win-and-you're-in scenario. The Pointers and Blue Devils are tied for sixth in the WIAC with seven points but UWSP needs a win, as UW-Stout holds the tiebreaker between the two teams.
