Box Score
OSHKOSH – Playing your archrival on the road without your leading scorer would have been an acceptable excuse to turn in less than a stellar performance.
The Pointer men's basketball team did quite the opposite on Saturday, posing a 73-54 victory over the UW-Oshkosh Titans without the services of leading scorer
Louis Hurd (Portage/Portage), who was forced to miss Saturday's game with the flu.
Matt Moses (Fond du Lac) picked up the slack, pouring in a career-high 34 points on 11-of-14 shooting from the floor as the nation's top-ranked Pointers improved to 17-1 overall, 8-1 in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
The Pointers shot a blistering 59.1 percent from the floor for the game and connected on eight of 18 three-point field goals on the afternoon on their way to the 19 point victory.
Nick Krull (Marshall) finished the day as the only other Pointer to score in double figures, adding 11 points and a team-high six rebounds.
Jerrel Harris (Whitefish Bay) added eight Points off the bench.
Oshkosh was led by D.J. Marsh who, after being held scoreless in the game's opening half, finished with a team-high 13 points and nine rebounds.
The Pointers now return home for a match-up Wednesday, Jan. 27th with the sixth-ranked Warhawks of UW-Whitewater. The Warhawks handed the Pointers their only loss of the season back on Dec.10, a 67-60 overtime outcome in Whitewater. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Quandt Fieldhouse on Bennett Court.
