STEVENS POINT - Sophomore
Keith Ingram (Milwaukee, WI/Riverside) (Milwaukee) set two school records and qualified for the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships in the 55m dash as the Pointers compiled 207.5 points on their way to a first place finish at the Pointer invite on Saturday.
Ingram set the new school record in the 55m dash in the preliminaries of the event and finished second, but posted a 6.40 in finals, finishing first. His other school record came in the 200m dash, posting a time of 21.98 in the event. Ingram also finished first in the long jump with a distance of 6.52.
Elsewhere for the men,
Kyle Scofield (Green Bay/Preble) (Green Bay) qualified for the NCAA Championships with his toss of 16.37 meters in the shot put. That distance is also the second-best performance to date in the event in all of Division III.
Other top finishers on the day for the Pointers included
Adam Lang (Sheboygan/Sheboygan Lutheran) (Sheboygan),
Greg Haak (Belleville/Belleville) (Belleville) and
Adam Steinke (Hewitt/Marshfield) (Hewitt), who finished one through three in the 800m run. Dom Meyer (Beloit) finished first in the one mile run, the men's 4x400m relay team finished first, Chris Petrie (Glenbeulah) finished first in the triple jump with a distance of 13.79m and
Mike Dellemann (Oregon/Oregon) (Oregon) and
Brian Thill (Webster/Webster) (Webster) finished 1-2 in the indoor pentathlon.
The Pointers return to action next weekend, Feb. 14, when they travel to UW-Platteville.
