Women's Basketball
Ashley Baker, Senior, (Vesper
Baker closed out her regular season Pointer career on a hot streak, shooting 93 percent from the field in two Pointer wins. Against UW-La Crosse Baker was a perfect 8-8 from the field and 2-2 from the free throw line while scoring a career high 18 points. Baker also hit the glass grabbing three rebounds. In the regular season finale against UW-Platteville, Baker was once again perfect from the charity stripe (2-2) and only missed one shot from the field, going 6-7, scoring 14 points and corralling four rebounds. On the season Baker is leading the team in field goal percentage (.585) and averages 7.2 points a game.


Women's Hockey
Kellye Nelson, Junior (Lino Lakes, MN)
Nelson finished the regular season scoring four points in two games against the ninth ranked Bulldogs of Adrian. On Friday Nelson tallied a power-play goal with less than five minutes remaining in the first period of a tough loss. On Saturday Nelson ruled the third period scoring two goals and added an assist in a Pointer victory. For the season Nelson has tallied ten goals and seven assists.

Men: Mark Cufaude, Junior (Evansville, WI)
Women: Tahlia Luedtke, Junior (Andover, MN)

The men's distance medley relay team of Derek Nechuta (Mosinee/Mosinee), Zac Scott-Keyser, Jon Trzebiatowski (Rosholt/Rosholt), Dom Meyer finished in third place this week at the Eastbay Invitational at UW-Stevens Point. With a time of 10:08.30, a provisional NCAA Qualifying time.

The UWSP women's distance medley relay team of Claire Roberts (Oakfield/Horace Mann), Laura Simonis (Rosholt/Rosholt), Kathleen Folbrecht (Jefferson/Jefferson), and Kelly Haen (Kaukauna, WI/Kaukauna) finished in third place this weekend at the Eastbay Invitational hosted by UW-Stevens Point. The time of 12:08.31 was also a provisional NCAA qualifying time.

Cufaude finished in second place in the pole vault event this weekend at the Eastbay Invitational. His jump of 4.96 meters earned eight points for UWSP's overall team score. His vault was also high enough to earn a NCAA Provisional birth.

Luedke was the top UWSP finisher in the Women's Shot Put event this past weekend. Luedke had a personal best throw of 10.71 meters in the finals improving on her pervious throw of 10.50 meters.


Men's Basketball
Matt Moses, Junior (Fond du Lac, WI)
Moses finished the week as the Pointers second-leading scorer, averaging 10.5 points and 4.6 rebounds per game in a 1-1 week. Against UW-La Crosse Moses was 4-6 from the field, 1-1 from beyond the arc and a perfect 3-3 from the free throw line in a Pointer win that secured the team's 25th conference title. Against UW-Platteville Moses shot 60% from the field, 50% from beyond the arc and another perfect night at the line going 2-2. Moses also tallied 9 rebounds for the week, tied for the team high. On the season, Moses is leading the pointers with a 13.7 ppg scoring average, having scored 342 points on the season.
