STEVENS POINT - UW-Stevens Point has named Athletes of the Week for the weeks of Dec. 22 through Jan. 4.  The program is sponsored by Subway.

Men's Basketball
Louis Hurd (Portage/Portage), Sophomore (Portage, WI)
Hurd shot 65% from the field in two games this past week after returning from a foot injury that kept him sidelined much of the first semester. In a tough loss to Carroll University Hurd had a double-double while leading the Pointers with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Hurd was 8-12 from the field, including 4-of-6 from three-point range. In a UWSP win over UW-Oshkosh, Hurd's first start of the season, he went 5-for-8, scoring ten points and added three rebounds and three assists, helping snap a three-game losing streak against the Titans.

Women's Basketball
Andrea Flease (New London/New London), Sophomore (New London, WI)
Flease shot an impressive 60 percent from the floor in two games this past week. In a close win against Edgewood College, Flease had a season-high 15 points (shooting 75% from beyond the arc), along with five rebounds, five assists and one steal. Against conference foe UW-Oshkosh, she scored nine points and added three assists and added five steals in a 40 point route of the Titans in Oshkosh. Flease leads the team with 31 steals this season.

Men's Hockey
Jonathan Ralph (Chester, NJ/Shattuck St. Mary's), Senior (Chester, NJ)
Ralph tallied five points in two games this past weekend. On Friday, Ralph had three even-strength assists in a 13-1 UWSP win over the University of Minnesota-Crookston. On Saturday Ralph scored his first goal of the season with an even-strength goal and added an assist in another Pointer victory, a 4-2 outcome over St. Olaf. On the season Ralph leads the Pointers in assists with 12.
